US swimmer Katie Ledecky tied one more swimming symbol, Michael Phelps, for the most profession individual world swimming titles on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old came out on top for her fifteenth individual big showdown as she ruled the 1,500-meter free-form at the big showdowns in Fukuoka, Japan.
Ledecky got done with a period of 15 minutes and 26.27 seconds, 17.04 seconds quicker than Italy’s Simona Quadarella who made due with silver while China’s Li Bingjie took bronze.
In doing as such, she evened out the record set by 23-time Olympic gold medalist Phelps for the most individual world swimming titles, something Ledecky called an “honor.”
“I’ve known Michael for a long time currently, admired him as a young child,” Ledecky said in a public interview after her success.
“We’re both from Maryland. Simply never truly envisioned I would be here. It’s consistently a distinction to win a decoration for Group USA, particularly gold. About to continue onward and keep on doing my best every time I race.”
As per USA Swimming, Ledecky is the main lady to bring home 20 big showdowns – she has won five group golds. This was her fifth world title in the 1,500m occasion and proceeds with her record of being undefeated over the distance in her profession.
She won in the third best time at any point swum in the occasion, just behind her reality record set in 2018 and her Big showdowns record set in 2015.
As per the Olympics, Ledecky now possesses every one of the 16 of the top times recorded over 1,500m.
