Mas Ka Das Renowned for his distinct charisma and impactful acting, Vishwak Sen has established a distinct identity in the Tamil film industry. He set out to maintain his winning trend with “Gangs of Godavari,” his most recent venture. After creating a lot of hype at first, the movie’s box office performance was just a semi-hit.
An action-drama set against the backdrop of the Godavari region is “Gangs of Godavari,” directed by Krishna Chaitanya. Neha Shetty, Anjali, Nassar, and Vishwak Sen make up a strong ensemble cast in this film. The production gains even more curiosity from Yuvan Shankar Raja’s soundtrack.
Early indications indicated that “Gangs of Godavari” was off to a promising start. In Telugu states, especially in Nizam (Telangana) and Andhra Pradesh, the movie did fairly well in the box office. An estimated Rs. 10.30 crore worth of trading was done in the Telugu market. This includes collections from outside of India, as well as Karnataka and other regions.
However, despite the initial positive response, the movie’s trajectory dipped after the first week. Mixed reviews and a gradual in viewership prevented it from achieving a blockbuster status.
Throughout its whole run across Telugu states, “Gangs of Godavari” was able to collect a share of Rs. 8.70 crore, which translates to a gross collection of Rs. 15.75 crore. The overall revenue, including earnings from other territories, came to Rs. 19.70 crore.
According to industry insiders, the movie’s revenue goal was estimated to be about Rs. 11.00 crore. Even though “Gangs of Godavari” made a total of Rs. 10.50 crore during its whole run, it was only barely profitable. The movie is rated as a semi-hit based on this performance.
Even if “Gangs of Godavari” wasn’t a huge hit, it does highlight Vishwak Sen’s commitment to playing a variety of parts and his ability to hold viewers’ attention. The film provided an insight into the Godavari region’s world with its intriguing setting and action-packed plot.
