The official release date for Barbie star Margot Robbie’s upcoming movie is announced. A Big Bold Beautiful Fantasy, the next love fantasy starring the Oscar-nominated actor and Colin Farrell, is scheduled to open in theatres early in 2019.
A Big Bold Beautiful Fantasy will make its theatrical debut on May 9, 2025, over Mother’s Day weekend, according to Variety. Following Barbie’s summertime premiere, Robbie landed her first significant film role when the Sony Pictures title was revealed in February of last year. Imperative Entertainment produced A Big Bold Beautiful Fantasy, which was financed by independent distributor 30West.
Explained that the synopsis, Robbie plays Sarah and Farrell plays David in A Big Bold Beautiful Fantasy, which is described as “an imaginative tale of two strangers and the extraordinary emotional journey that connects them.” Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Brandon Perea are also featured in the female-focused movie. Following Yang, Kogonada directed the picture based on a screenplay written by Seth Reiss.

The Banshees of Inisherin, which debuted in 2022 and earned Farrell a nomination for the Best Actor Academy Award, was his last big-screen appearance. Resuming his role as the subterranean character as The Penguin, he has started working on the HBO spinoff series The Penguin, which picks up from the events of The Batman. To build excitement for its premiere, HBO has produced a trailer for The Penguin, which will air on September 19.
Robbie is engaged in development on multiple more projects. The first is Olivia Wilde’s intended portrayal of Rob Liefeld’s Avengelyne, the vengeful angel from Deadpool. Robbie will both produce and play the lead role in the movie. Robbie and Barbie co-star Ryan Gosling will return in the Oceans movie, which is a prequel to Ocean’s Eleven. In the 2001 film Ocean’s Eleven, George Clooney’s character Danny Ocean is said to have Robbie and Gosling as his parents.
As she and the studio work on future projects together, Robbie’s production firm, LuckyChap Entertainment, also signed a new film agreement at Warner Bros. in February.
