A number of internet listings indicate that Hellboy: The Crooked Man will be released exclusively on digital platforms early next month.

When is the Hellboy: The Crooked Man digital release date?

Digital preorder advertisements for Hellboy: The Crooked Man indicate that the film will be available on October 8, 2024, according to websites like Amazon. This seems to imply that the movie will go straight to digital outlets rather than having a theatrical release.

Brian Taylor, who co-directed Crank (2006), Crank: High Voltage (2009), Gamer (2009), and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) with Mark Neveldine, is the director of Hellboy: The Crooked Man. In 2017, Taylor directed multiple episodes of Syfy’s Happy! series as well as the film Mom and Dad alone.

“This film brings a chilling tale of survival against the forces of darkness,” the official synopsis reads. “Set in the 1950s, rookie BPRD agent Bobbie Jo Song finds herself in a dire situation when tasked with delivering a spider to the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense. She must enlist the help of Hellboy to confront the malevolent Crooked Man, who has returned to Earth to harvest souls for the devil.”

Jack Kesy plays Hellboy in the film The Crooked Man. Adeline Rudolph as Bobbie Jo Song, Jefferson White as Tom Ferrel, Leah McNamara, Joseph Marcell, Hannah Margetson, and Martin Bassindale are also featured in the film alongside Kesy.

“His intention is to make a horror movie, so that’ll be nice. That’ll be interesting,” Hellboy creator Mike Mignola said of Taylor and co-writer Chris Golden when speaking to Variety about the film. “It’s the first Hellboy script that I read and I went, ‘Oh, it’s a horror movie,’ which is what I wanted. Taylor does not have a reputation as a horror movie director. But, so far, we’ve had two horror movie directors make Hellboy movies and we’ve never gotten a horror movie.”
