“Coraline” will be Rereleased for Halloween After Earning $53 Million During its August Theatrical Run

Starting on Halloween, the popular stop-motion film will be re-released by animation company Laika Studios.

The announcement follows a massive worldwide box office comeback for Laika, which is now collaborating with Fathom in the United States and Trafalgar Releasing abroad. During the dark fantasy film’s August rerelease commemorating its 15th anniversary, more than $53 million was made. Both 2D and freshly remastered 3D versions of the 2009 movie will be available.

A sneak peek at Laika’s next film Wildwood will also be available to fans during the screening. The movie will be accessible in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, Austria, and Ecuador starting on October 31. Additional countries will follow. In honour of the movie’s anniversary in November, a rerelease in France and Italy is also planned.

According to Laika, the August re-release has made the most money in the United States over the previous ten years. It also surpassed Chicken Run and The Nightmare Before Christmas to become the highest-grossing stop-motion animated film in history.
