Bruce Springsteen’s First image of Jeremy Allen White is Revealed

In a 20th Century Fox first-look photo, Jeremy Allen White plays Bruce Springsteen.

The Bear star plays The Boss in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, which is based on Warren Zanes’ 2023 book Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska and is directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart). Actor Jeremy Strong, who has been in Succession and The Apprentice, will play Springsteen’s long-time music manager Jon Landau.

White is wearing a leather jacket and flannel shirt in the image that was made public on Monday.

The making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska, which came after the singer-songwriter’s successful The River album, is examined in Deliver That From Nowhere. “I’m really lucky that there’s sort of a team of folks now in place to help young actors portray rock stars…. I’ve got a really talented group of people helping me train vocally, musically, to get ready for this thing.”

The biopic comes after Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, a recent Disney+ concert film.

In recent years, Taron Egerton played Elton John in Rocketman, Rami Malek played Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, Timothée Chalamet played Bob Dylan in the upcoming A Complete Unknown, and Austin Butler played Elvis Presley.

Cooper explained in April that Nebraska “had a profound impact on me and my work.” He explained: “Through themes of despair, disillusionment, and the struggles of everyday Americans, Bruce has formed an unparalleled legacy, painting an unflinching portrait of the human condition…. Yet, amidst the darkness, a sense of resilience and a sense of hope shines through, reflecting an indomitable spirit. That’s the Bruce I’ve come to know and love and will honor with this film.”

Born in 1949 in New Jersey, Springsteen has sold over 140 million records worldwide and over 71 million in the United States. He has received an Oscar, two Golden Globes, and twenty Grammy Awards. In 1999, he was admitted to both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
