Daniel Craig hopes that Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, often referred to as Knives Out 3, will be able to stay in theatres for more than a week thanks to Netflix.

2019’s Knives Out, distributed by Lionsgate and given a real, full-length theatrical release in November 2019, featured Craig in the role of investigator Benoit Blanc for the first time.

Netflix purchased the distribution rights for the follow-up, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. In November 2022, the film had a one-week theatrical run before being made available on the streaming service the following month. Glass Onion is Netflix’s most widely distributed release to date.

Additionally, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third movie in the Knives Out series, will be available on Netflix. Although Netflix has not yet disclosed the distribution strategy, the movie is anticipated to be released in 2025.

What did Daniel Craig say about Knives Out 3’s Release?

Craig expressed his hope that Netflix will permit Knives Out 3 to remain in theatres for a longer period of time than Glass Onion did in an interview with Variety.

“Hopefully, Netflix will push it out a bit, and people will get to see it,” he said. “The people I speak to — the fans, I suppose — all they want to do is take their families and go see it at the cinemas. That’s all they want to do. Hopefully, we can give them that experience.”

Craig, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden will all appear in Knives Out 3. The new movie will be written and directed by Rian Johnson, who previously directed Knives Out and Glass Onion.
