What happens in the Den of Thieves 2: Pantera trailer?

The latest teaser reiterates the plot of the upcoming movie, which follows Big Nick (Butler), who was sacked from the police, as he teams up with Donnie (O’Shea Jackson Jr.) to steal jewels. They are unaware that the gems are owned by a notorious mafia.

On January 15, 2025, Lionsgate Films will release Den of Thieves 2: Pantera in theatres across the United States.

“Big Nick (Butler) is back on the hunt in Europe and closing in on Donnie (Jackson), who is embroiled in the treacherous and unpredictable world of diamond thieves and the infamous Panther mafia, as they plot a massive heist of the world’s largest diamond exchange,” the synopsis reads.

Christian Gudegast, who directed the first film, is both the writer and director of this one. In addition, Gudegast wrote the screenplays for the 2016 film London Has Fallen, which starred Butler, and the 2003 film A Man Apart. Butler, Mark Canton, Alan Siegel, and Tucker Tooley co-produce Den of Thieves 2.

Michael Bisping, Salvatore Esposito, Orli Shuka, Evin Ahmad, Cristian Solimeno, Nazmiye Oral, Yasen Zates Atour, Giuseppe Schillaci, Dino Kelly, Rico Verhoeven, Velibor Topic, Antonio Bustorff, and Jackson Jr. share the screen alongside Butler and Jackson Jr. in Den of Thieves 2.

In January 2018, the first Den of Thieves film was shown in theatres around the United States. Despite an estimated $30 million budget, it grossed about $80.5 million at the worldwide box office, making it a financial failure for STX. Along with Butler and Jackson Jr., it featured Pablo Schreiber and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
