Clown in a Cornfield, starring Eli Craig, is scheduled for a broad theatre release.

Craig is well-known for directing Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, a 2010 cult horror comedy film starring Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine. After that, he created Little Evil for Netflix, starring Adam Scott and Evangeline Lilly, which debuted in 2017.

Clown in a Cornfield, which is produced by Smile’s Temple Hill, will have a broad theatrical release in the United States on May 9, 2025, following its recent acquisition by RLJE Films and Shudder.

Adam Cesare’s 2020 book of the same name served as the inspiration for the movie. Will Sasso, Carson MacCormac, Aaron Abrams, Katie Douglas, and Kevin Durand are among its cast members.

“Clown in a Cornfield follows Quinn (Douglas) and her father (Abrams), who have just moved to the quiet town of Kettle Springs hoping for a fresh start,” Deadline’s description of the plot reads. “Instead, she discovers a fractured community that has fallen on hard times after the treasured Baypen Corn Syrup Factory burned down. As the locals bicker amongst themselves and tensions boil over, a sinister, grinning figure emerges from the cornfields to cleanse the town of its burdens, one bloody victim at a time. Welcome to Kettle Springs. The real fun starts when Frendo the clown comes out to play.”
