Manny Pacquiao exits the boxing arena and walks onto the set of Netflix’s renowned survival reality show. The latest round of the South Korean survival reality competition series Physical: 100, which stars boxing great Manny Pacquiao, is a huge hook, for Filipino audiences.

In previous seasons, 100 competitors, many of whom were athletes from South Korea, engaged in a strenuous solo competition in an attempt to outlast one another.

Yoo Ki-hwan, Netflix Korea’s director of content, explained: “This time, we are expanding to an Asian stage with Physical: Asia. The strongest physical competitors from different Asian countries will compete in a national team battle for their country’s pride.

A team-based concept split into nations of origin, Physical: Asia features Pacquiao for the Philippine squad. Originally, the show included 100 athletes with ultra-fit physiques allocated to individual challenges.

Catch-up viewing is presently available for the first two seasons of Physical: 100, which have topped Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV Series (Non-English) rankings for the past two years.

The Philippines will be represented by Pacquiao, who is regarded as the first boxer in history to win titles in eight weight classes.
