Google’s “Results about you” tool has been modified to make it simpler for users to take personal information out of search results. Users now have more control over their online privacy according to the upgrade, which also makes it easier to request removals straight from Google Search and improves the signup process.
For example, you can ask for a refresh if you have deleted personal information from a website and Search hasn’t been updated to reflect this. This will allow Google’s computers to “recrawl” the page and get the most recent data.
How to Use
In order to utilise the feature, you must fill out a form with your contact details so that Google can verify that they match the information on a search results page. If Google finds results using your information, you have the option to be notified.
Additionally, users can now request a refresh of their information via the three-dot menu.
Google revealed a new upgrade that enhances the “Results about you” tool, making it simpler to delete or amend search results that include private data like addresses and phone numbers.
Users can now sign up for their data to be continuously scanned, and when any sensitive information is found, they can easily request its removal through a notification. Additionally, the “remove this result” option now allows users to request deletion straight from the search results page.
The latest upgrade gives users more control over their privacy through the most widely used search engine in the world by adding three request options when filing a removal request: requests to refresh outdated search results, requests for removals of personal information, and requests for legal removals.
