Death Stranding 2: Official Trailer & Release Date Revealed

The Death Stranding 2: On the Beach teaser, which Hideo Kojima showed at PlayStation’s SXSW event, has new characters, breathtaking graphics, and a June 26, 2025 release date. Kojima also revealed fresh details about the game and revealed that a Death Stranding movie adaptation is in development.

Death Stranding 2: for the Beach, developed by Kojima Productions, will launch exclusively for the PS5 on June 26, 2025. Pre-orders will open on March 17 at 10 a.m. local time.

In the second Death Stranding, Norman Reedus reprises his role as Sam Porter Bridges. Although the trailers that have been published thus far imply more of the same, specific narrative elements, including a rough summary, have been kept under wraps thus far. As Sam ventures outside of North America to assist in growing the Chirai Network, the surroundings appear to be far more varied this time.

In Death Stranding, an incident has brought BTs—beings from the afterlife—into the world of the living. These beings interact with live people and can result in nuclear-scale catastrophes.

Another genre-defying experience from the renowned game developer, continuing the theme of “connections,” players will set out on a new adventure in uncharted terrain, delving beyond human connection. Woodkid’s brand-new song, “To The Wilder,” which will provide an anthem for the eagerly awaited sequel, is also teased in the teaser.

The Collector’s Edition, which costs $230 USD, comes with 48 hours of early access to the whole digital game. A 15-inch statue of Magellan Man, a 3-inch Dollman figurine, art cards, a message from Hideo Kojima, and other in-game objects are included, along with a collector’s box. In a similar vein, the $80 USD Digital Deluxe Edition comes with a number of in-game goods in addition to the full game with early access.

Norman Reedus will play Sam Porter Bridges again in On The Beach. Bridges is a freelance courier who delivers supplies to different places in post-apocalyptic America for the corporation BRIDGES.
