Ben Folds, the alt-rock piano virtuoso, has revealed a comprehensive 2025 tour itinerary that will include a combination of solo appearances, symphonic orchestra collaborations, and his signature Paper Aeroplane Request Tour format.

Ben Folds, an independent legend and NSO Artistic Advisor, performs new music and hits for his upcoming live orchestral performance CD.

Before Folds travels to Kansas City for two nights with the Kansas City Symphony on March 18–19, the tour begins tomorrow with a solo performance at Evansville, Indiana’s Victory Theatre.

Folds, 58, is a piano-rock musician who is most recognised for his solo and frontman roles with Ben Folds Five. Popular tracks include “Brick,” “Army,” “The Luckiest,” “Philosophy,” “Rockin’ the Suburbs,” and “Song for the Dumped.” A live version of “Landed,” recorded at Syracuse University, was included in a special edition of his 2005 CD “Songs for Silverman.”

Several well-known artists, including “Weird Al” Yankovic, Regina Spektor, Amanda Palmer, author Nick Hornby, “Star Trek” actor William Shatner, and a number of a cappella groups, have also worked with Folds. From 2009 to 2013, he judged “The Sing-Off,” an NBC singing competition.

In April, Folds will go to Johnson City, Tennessee, and Marietta, Ohio, with his Paper Aeroplane Request Tour. During the tour, fans write song requests on paper aeroplanes, which are then launched onto the stage for an impromptu performance by Folds.

Folds will work with several symphony orchestras during the spring and summer, including as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Omaha Symphony, Cincinnati Pops, and Pacific Symphony. On May 18, a special concert featuring the Howard County Youth Orchestra is planned in Columbia, Maryland.

The tour’s fall leg includes performances with the Grand Rapids Symphony, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and Colorado Symphony. It ends on December 2 in Portland, Oregon.

The majority of the performances’ tickets are currently on sale, with a few dates going on sale in the upcoming months.
