Focus Features has revealed the first look image and release date for Davis Entertainment’s much awaited musical drama Song Sung Blue. The movie, which stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, is scheduled to open on Christmas Day 2025 and promises to be a moving celebration of narrative, music, and passion.
Neil Diamond’s songs are featured in the film, and the picture suggests that the two will play in front of a keyboard.

Song Sung Blue will be released widely on December 25, 2025, according to Focus Features.

Hudson Hilbert Hensley, King Princess, Ella Anderson, Jim Belushi, Fisher Stevens, Michael Imperioli, and Mustafa Shakir all feature.
Both Hudson and Jackman have extensive experience in musical roles. Jackman, a Tony Award-winning actor, most recently played Professor Harold Hill in The Music Man, a Broadway production that lasted two years. Jackman’s portrayal of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables earned him a Golden Globe as well.
Hudson’s debut album, Glorious, came out in 2024. Hudson’s performance as Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous earned him numerous accolades from critics. As Cassandra July, the Running Point actress also had a noteworthy cameo appearance on Glee.
Director and Producer
Based on a true tale, Craig Brewer wrote and directed the film, which stars Jackman and Hudson as struggling musicians who join a happy Neil Diamond tribute band, demonstrating that it’s never too late to discover love and pursue your goals.
Brewer co-produced the movie with John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment. Brewer previously wrote and directed the 2006 hip-hop global drama Hustle & Flow, which won an Oscar.
