The last trailer for the upcoming Borderlands film has been made public. It offers a fresh look at the upcoming August release of the video game adaption.
On August 9, Borderlands will be released in theatres. The latest teaser, which was released ahead of the movie’s theatrical run, has humour and stunning action sequences that will leave viewers feeling like they’re back in Borderlines.
Using a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Crombie, Eli Roth directed the movie. It is based on Gearbox Software’s and 2K’s video game of the same name. Executive producers were Tim Miller, Ethan Smith, Louise Rosner, Emmy Yu, Lucy Kitada, Christopher Woodrow, K. Blaine Johnston, Randy Pitchford, and Strauss Zelnick. Producers were Ari Arad, Avi Arad, and Erik Feige.
The Ensemble Cast of the Borderlands Movie Is Impressive
Cate Blanchett is in charge of the ensemble cast of Borderlands. Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Edgar Ramírez, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, and Jamie Lee Curtis are among the other actors who feature in the movie.
The synopsis of Borderlands reads, “Lilith (Blanchett), an infamous bounty hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home, Pandora, the most chaotic planet in the galaxy. Her mission is to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Ramírez), the universe’s most powerful S.O.B. Lilith forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits – Roland (Hart), a seasoned mercenary on a mission; Tiny Tina (Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound protector; Tannis (Curtis), the oddball scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap (Black), a wiseass robot.”
“Together, these unlikely heroes must battle an alien species and dangerous bandits to uncover one of Pandora’s most explosive secrets,” the synopsis continues. “The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other. “I love the voice acting. I also love that video game, so it was fun to be able to voice that character,” Jack Black, who also voices Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, teased of his role as an “R-rated R2-D2” in Borderlands. “He’s a cool, fun, little turn, and another opportunity to bring a great video game to the silver screen. We’re kind of in the middle of a video game movie renaissance right now, and I’m stoked to be a part of it.”
In response, he explained, “Some video games are already halfway there to telling those kind of stories, and there are some movies that are like video games.”
