The American Music Awards are officially making a comeback after a hiatus since 2022. On Memorial Day, May 26, the renowned awards show will be televised live from Las Vegas by its new network, CBS. Dick Clark Productions has announced that the AMAs are embarking on a new chapter and bringing back the largest night in music.
AMAs Return: May 26th Will Be Music’s Biggest Night
After a 2022 break, the American Music Awards (AMAs) are making a much-awaited return. The 2025 Academy Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas by CBS at 8 p.m. ET on Memorial Day, May 26, and streamed on Paramount+ in the United States.

This year, the award presentation will move to Las Vegas for the first time and be televised on a new network. The ceremony will stream on Paramount+, while CBS will handle the live broadcast.

AMAs 2025: Top Performers
Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Green Day, Brad Paisley, Chaka Khan, Sheila E., Gladys Knight, Kane Brown, Nelly, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, RAYE, Stray Kids, AJ McLean, Jimmy Kimmel, Kate Hudson, Lance Bass, Reba McEntire, Samuel L. Jackson, Smokey Robinson, and Jennifer Lopez were among the star-studded lineup.
A 54 percent gain over the 2022 AMAs on ABC and the highest year-over-year growth of a music special or award event on TV in 2024, the AMAs’ 50th anniversary special averaged over 6 million viewers for its October 6 broadcast.
DCP also explained that the special was the most-streamed AMAs in the show’s history, racking up 65 million views across social media platforms in the week since it aired.
After airing in the fall, the American Music Awards are moving to a spring date for the first time this year. In addition to honouring the year’s top performers, the 2025 performance will pay homage to veterans.
