Jennifer Hudson finished off night three of the 2020 DNC with a moving interpretation of “A Change Is Gonna Come.”
Accompanied by two pianists and a saxophonist, Hudson belted out the Sam Cooke melody from the Chicago Cultural Central, her amazing voice repeating through the unfilled space.
Hudson’s performance followed Sen. Kamala Harris’ acknowledgment of the bad habit presidential selection.
“It’s not about Joe or me,” she said, referring to presidential nominee Joe Biden, “it’s about us.”
The third night of the Democratic National Convention likewise included exhibitions by Billie Eilish and Prince Royce. Eilish encouraged watchers to “vote like our lives depend on it.”
Royce, addressing Billboard after his appearance, said that “we need the kind of leader that represents our country’s values and is able to properly deal with the pandemic that has been disproportionately affecting our country.”
Former Rep. Gabby Giffords, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and President Obama were among different speakers.
