This weekend, from August 9 to 11, restricted screens across India will broadcast BLACKPINK’s WORLD TOUR: BORN PINK concert film. Fans there are in for a treat. Presenting the essence of their Born Pink global tour and featuring electric performances, the film celebrates the eighth anniversary of the legendary K-POP girl group BLACKPINK. It is being shown in theatres nationwide and is presented by PVRINOX Pictures.
In support of BLACKPINK’s second album, Born Pink (2022), the Born Pink World Tour was an enormous success. 22 countries, including Australia, Asia, Europe, and North America, hosted 66 shows during the trip. According to Billboard’s 2023 Year-End Top 40 Tours chart, it earned an incredible $148.3 million from 29 reported gigs, making it the highest-grossing concert tour by a female ensemble. It was the highest attended concert tour by a K-pop girl group, drawing 1.8 million people.
The video, which was directed by Yoondong Oh and Geun Min, documents this incredible trip and features performances from Gocheok Dome in Seoul as well as other important places across the globe. The film will have its world debut in more than 110 nations, making it the biggest worldwide theatrical release for a female ensemble to date.
