Hush, the critically acclaimed film directed by Mike Flanagan, will be available digitally this summer. This is the first time the horror movie has ever been made accessible for digital rental or purchase.

Shout! Studios has revealed that starting August 27, 2024, Hush will be accessible for digital rental and purchase. Prior to its removal in 2023, the film had only been available on Netflix when it was first launched there in 2016. It’s also hinted that in the upcoming months, Flanagan would be revealing more news for her followers.

“Hush is a gripping horror thriller that centers on a deaf writer who has retreated into the woods to live a solitary life. She must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window,” per the official synopsis.

I’m so glad that people will finally be able to rent or purchase the film digitally. I’ve always loved how Shout! Using a screenplay co-written with Kate Siegel, Flanagan directed the movie. Along with Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass), Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica, The Fall of the House of Usher), Samantha Sloyan (Midnight Mass, Grey’s Anatomy), and John Gallagher Jr. (The Newsroom, 10 Cloverfield Lane) are also featured in the movie. Hush became an instant classic after its 2016 SXSW debut, ranking among Flanagan’s best works.
