Garudan, an action-thriller film directed by Durai Senthil Kumar, is still making an impression on viewers around. Surpassing all predictions, the film starring Soori Muthuchamy, M. Sasikumar, and Unni Mukundan has made a total of 60.2 crore globally.
Even though Garudan slowed down in Week 3, between Days 21 and 27, it added an additional 2.10 crore to its bankroll. With this, their net India total rises to an impressive 42.55 crore. The total amount of money the movie has earned in India is 50.20 crore.
Strong Performance Despite Competition
Given that Garudan had to compete with recent films like Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja, its performance is even more remarkable. Throughout its theatrical run, the movie remained a constant presence at the box office, demonstrating its appeal to viewers.
With an estimated 10 crore in sales, Garudan has also found success abroad. This helps the movie reach its remarkable global total of 60.2 crore.
Profitable Venture
Garudan has more than doubled its investment, making a good profit of around 22.55 crore, on a rumoured budget of 20 crore.
The good news for the Tamil film industry (Kollywood) is Garudan’s success. It is Kollywood’s second blockbuster of 2024, after the horror-comedy Aranmanai 4. The film’s impressive performance demonstrates that viewers are still open to quality media, especially action-oriented stuff.
