Terrifier 1 was released in 2016, and Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3 were released in 2022 and 2024, respectively. Terrifier 3 is scheduled to open in US theatres next month. David Howard Thornton plays Art the Clown in all three films.
Writer and director Damien Leone has revealed to Variety that Terrifier 4 is currently being developed.
What did Damien Leone say about Terrifier 4?
At Thursday, September 19, Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, Leone explained, “Yes there will be a Terrifier 4” when asked about the franchise’s future.
Leone has previously expressed a desire to create Terrifier 4. In February 2023, he stated to Business Insider, “I am writing Terrifier 3 as we speak. I definitely want to make at least one more. There may be two to tell this story and tackle all the ideas that I have in my head. Because there’s a lot more to explore with Art the Clown, the pale girl, Victoria, and certainly Sienna as our final girl. We will be following her journey to the end of this franchise:
On October 11, 2024, Terrifier 3 opens in theatres in the United States. In addition to Thornton, the movie stars Chris Jericho as Burke, Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria “Vicky” Heyes, Elliot Fullam as Jonathan Shaw, Lauren LaVera as Sienna Shaw, and more.
“After surviving Art the Clown’s Halloween massacre, Sienna and her brother are struggling to rebuild their shattered lives,” the synopsis for Terrifier 3 reads. “As the holiday season approaches, they try to embrace the Christmas spirit and leave the horrors of the past behind. But just when they think they’re safe, Art the Clown returns, determined to turn their holiday cheer into a new nightmare. The festive season quickly unravels as Art unleashes his twisted brand of terror, proving that no holiday is safe.”
