The title of Jason Reitman’s film about the iconic comedy show SNL 1975 has changed, but the release date has been disclosed.

October 11, 2024 has been confirmed as the release date for SNL 1975. Saturday Night is the new title of the film.

The original air date of Saturday Night Live’s inaugural episode, which aired in 1975, falls on October 11. What transpired behind the scenes in the ninety minutes preceding that initial transmission is the subject of the movie’s narrative. To gain a clearer understanding of that night, Reitman and Keenan have been in contact with every surviving member of the cast, crew, and writers.

Saturday Night is being directed by Jason Reitman, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Gil Kenan. Producing it are Reitman, Kenan, Erica Mills, Jason Blumenfeld, and Peter Rice.

Earlier this year, Reitman and Kenan collaborated on Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. There is a relationship between that series and SNL. Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray, two former cast members, starred in the first film.
