The Silent Hour, the next action criminal thriller from Paramount Pictures, features Joel Kinnaman as a detective who suffers a hearing loss as a result of an injury he sustained while working.

“Boston Detective Frank Shaw returns to duty after a career-altering injury leaves him with permanent hearing loss,” reads the official film synopsis. “Tasked with interpreting for Ava Fremont, a deaf witness to a brutal gang murder, they find themselves cornered in a soon-to-be-condemned apartment building when the killers return to eliminate her. Cut off from the outside world, these two strangers must lean on each other to outsmart killers they can’t hear coming for their only hope of making it out alive.”

When is The Silent Hour release date?

On October 11, 2024, The Silent Hour is slated to premiere in theatres and on digital platforms. Brad Anderson helms the picture, which he wrote from a script by Dan Hall. Mekhi Phifer (Lights Out), Sandra Mae Frank (New Amsterdam), and Mark Strong (Kingsman: The Secret Service) are joining Kinnaman. Aaron Barnett, Lauren Case, Anders Erden, Michael Ewing, Blair Ward, and Shannon D. Ward serve as executive producers.

After starring in Nicolas Cage and John Woo’s Silent Night in Sympathy for the Devil last year, this is Kinnaman’s most recent action thriller. The Suicide Squad star will next be seen alongside Cara Jade Myers from Killers of the Flower Moon in the suspense thriller Ice Fall.
