Reese Witherspoon is set to reprise her part as Elle Woods, the Chihuahua-carrying sorority young lady, in the MGM sequel.
MGM is pushing the dramatic release for Legally Blonde 3 to May 2022.
“Elle Woods is back! Legally Blonde 3 coming May 2022. We rest our case,” MGM said on its official Twitter account.
The Reese Witherspoon-starrer was at first set to bow on Feb. 14, 2020, preceding an underlying deferral. Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Marc Platt are delivering the most recent portion of the MGM comedy franchise.
The third cycle will see Witherspoon repeat her role as Elle Woods. Lawfully Blonde, which keeps a hot-pink-clad law understudy stirring up the stodgy universe of Harvard law school, hit theaters in 2001, and turned into an unexpected film industry achievement and prompted a 2003 continuation, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde.
Witherspoon revealed to The Hollywood Reporter a year ago that young ladies particularly frequently stop her in the roads to disclose to her they went to graduate school due to Elle Woods.
The Hollywood star added she was quick to repeat her featuring job almost twenty years on from the first Legally Blonde film: “I want to discover what age means to that character.”
The most recent dating for Legally Blonde 3 comes per day after Witherspoon facilitated a virtual Legally Blonde gathering on her Hello Sunshine YouTube channel, directed by Saturday Night Live cast part Chloe Fineman.
Witherspoon was joined by Luke Wilson, Jennifer Coolidge, Selma Blair, Holland Taylor, Alanna Ubach, Jessica Cauffiel, Ali Larter and Matthew Davis, every one of whom played memorable roles in the 2001 comedy from chief Robert Luketic.
