Netflix has released the official trailer for Lost in Starlight, its first Korean original animated feature, on YouTube. With its futuristic love tale between an astronaut and a musician, the movie promises to be both aesthetically spectacular and emotionally impactful. Only Netflix will be able to broadcast it globally.

The film’s stirring soundtrack plays as the teaser trailer opens with Nan-young and Jay’s tragic first encounter. A romance gradually develops when Nan-young meets Jay in an audio equipment repair shop while trying to restore an antique record player her mother left behind.

Storyline

Set in the year 2050 in Seoul, Lost in Starlight follows Nan-Young, an astronaut with dreams of exploring Mars, and Jay, a musician with a passion for restoring retro sound equipment. Their romance begins when Nan-Young visits Jay’s shop to repair a record player left behind by her mother. As their relationship blossoms, Nan-Young is selected for a Mars expedition, forcing the couple to navigate the challenges of a long-distance relationship spanning light years.

Producer and Director

The film is described as “This visual masterpiece takes you around the universe” by filmmaker Bong Joon-ho, which heightens anticipation for director Han Ji-won’s elaborate and magical visual storytelling.

Climax Studio produced the movie, which Han Ji-Won co-wrote.
