In an unprecedented five-decade career, Mammootty has continuously redefined what it means to be a star. His upcoming film, Bramayugam, will feature him menacingly interacting with audiences. Produced by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, and written and directed by the well-known “Bhoothakalam” actor Rahul Sadasivan, the movie will premiere in Malayalam across the world on February 15.
Bramayugam, which was scheduled to be released concurrently in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil, will now only be released in Malayalam at first because of audience demand to see the original film first. The film’s creators also think that viewers will probably enjoy the movie better in its original version, and they are sure that no matter how language barriers exist, viewers will be captivated by the film.
The creators of Bramayugam will soon reveal the release date for the dubbed versions. For the unaware, the tale takes place in a Keralan period rich in maya/tantra, centered around a courtly singer who, having narrowly avoided a slave market, finds refuge in an enigmatic mansion. Making the entire film in black and white was a bold artistic decision made by the filmmakers.
Mammootty and other members of the crew were present at the lavish Abu Dhabi premiere of the multilingual movie’s trailer. The preview promised viewers a gripping mixture of thrills and mystical elements, showcasing great technical finesse and attention to detail, without giving away the plot. In the movie, Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz play additional important roles.
Bramayugam, directed by Shehnad Jalal (ISC) and produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and Sashikanth, features dialogue by T D Ramakrishnan. The music for the thriller, which was composed by Christo Xavier and has been going viral since its release, was art directed by Jothish Shankar.
