The premiere date for Amazon MGM Studios‘ adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s psychological thriller Verity has been formally announced for May 15, 2026. Currently in development in New York, the movie stars Anne Hathaway, Brady Wagner, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Josh Hartnett, and Dakota Johnson.
Movie Director and Cast
Brady Wagner, Ismael Cruz Cordóva, and Josh Hartnett join the cast, which is directed by Michael Showalter. Nick Antosca wrote the script after Hoover and Lauren Levine, Hillary Seitz, Angela LaManna, Will Honley, and April Maguire wrote the first drafts.
About Verity
Verity was a mystery book with plenty of jump scares that had readers on the edge of their seats, a change from Hoover’s romantic books. When Jeremy Crawford, the husband of renowned novelist Verity Crawford, hires writer Lowen Ashleigh to complete his wife’s renowned book series after she becomes handicapped, she obtains the offer of a lifetime. Verity looks to be in a catatonic state after an unexplained accident. (Not to give anything away, but there is a wave to a window upstairs and one spooky scene with Verity and Jeremy’s son.)
Theater Release date
The movie, which also stars Brady Wagner and Ismael Cruz Cordóva, is scheduled to open in theaters on May 15, 2026.
As for the Novel
The suspense story, which had been a New York Best Seller for months, was published by Colleen Hoover in 2018. In addition, Verity is the author’s second book to be adapted into a film, after It Ends With Us.
