Moana 2 OTT Release Date: Where to Watch And More Details

The second chapter in the Moana franchise, Moana 2 is an animated musical adventure movie that is also a Moana sequel.

Release Date 

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures released Moana 2 in the US on November 27, 2024, following its November 21, 2024, premiere at the Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute in Kapolei, Hawaii. Reviewers and fans had differing opinions on the film. In March 2025, it is scheduled for OTT launch.

When and where to watch Moana 2?

On March 12, 2025, the movie will be made available digitally. JioHotstar will offer it.

Storyline

The film’s story takes place in ancient Polynesia, where the island of Motunui is gradually disappearing. The sea selects Moana, the heroine and Chief Tui’s daughter, to replace the heart of Te Fiti, a goddess whose heart was taken by the demigod Maui. Moana has a strong bond with the water. Darkness spread throughout the islands as a result of this theft. Moana bravely embarks on a journey across the ocean in spite of her father’s advice to remain inside the reef. The movie reveals what occurs next.

Production and Casting

Among the actors in the movie are David Fane as Kele, Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda as Simea, Temuera Morrison as Tui, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Hualālai Chung as Moni, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Rose Matafeo as Loto, and Awhimai Fraser as Matangi.

Music Composers and Directors

The film was directed by Dana Ledoux Miller, Jason Hand, and David G. Derrick Jr. They have never directed a feature picture before. Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear took Lin-Manuel Miranda’s place as the first film’s music composer for this follow-up.

Voice Cast

Auli’i Cravalho is back as Moana’s voice actor. In addition, Dwayne Johnson plays Maui again.
