Day 1 Box Office Collection for “Animal”: Today, December 1, saw the release of the Ranbir Kapoor film “Animal” on big screens. The film has garnered the interest of online users and surpassed Vicky Kaushal’s “Sam Bahadur,” which is also scheduled to open in theaters today, in terms of advance bookings.
On November 26, advance bookings for the Indian production of T-Series, Cine1 Studios, and Bhadrakali Pictures opened. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that on its opening day, the movie is expected to earn ₹60 crore.
According to Sacnilk, the three national chains—PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis—sold about 4.5 lakh tickets for the movie on its opening day, ranking them as the fifth-highest advance booking sales for Hindi films.
On its first day of release, the film sold 13 lakh tickets, totaling about ₹33.97 crore. With 23.5 lakh tickets sold, the first seven days’ ticket sales generated a gross of ₹57.61 crore.
Animal has been rated ‘A’ by the Central Board of Film Certification, indicating that it is appropriate for audiences over the age of 18. With a 3 hours and 21 minute approved runtime, the movie is among the longest Indian films ever made.
“If #Animal is Met with Positive Response then it will have an EARTH SHATTERING ₹ 170 cr + nett 3 Days Weekend at the domestic box office,” wrote film trade analyst Sumit Kadel in a post on X.
Based on Sacnilk’s advance booking trend data, the movie is vying to become the third Bollywood film to open with a collection of at least ₹100 crores gross at the global box office. With ₹68 crore in box office receipts at launch in India, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan” is facing stiff competition from “Animal”‘s advance bookings.
While SRK’s Pathaan and Jawan earned ₹105 crore and ₹129 crore on their release days, respectively, Animal is predicted to earn between ₹100 and 115 crore globally on its first day of release.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, two states where Telugu is spoken, are leading the movie’s pre-sales. Delhi, the nation’s capital, comes in second. Animal’s first day box office receipts are expected to range from ₹41 to ₹50 crore abroad.
Animal is predicted to earn between ₹50 and 60 crore on its first day of sales in Hindi, and it is probably going to earn at least Rs. 10 crore in Telugu. Sacnilk also predicted a minimum gross of ₹65 crore for the entire domestic opening.
In a post on X, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#Animal begins on a FATABULOUS NOTE. It’s #Animal mania everywhere, from mass pockets to urban centers, multiplexes to single screens, Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3 centers, from East to West and North to South. Promised to be the biggest opener for #Ranbir Kapoor.”
The gangster action drama film, which is being released in theaters in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, is a multilingual film. The romantic crime drama, which is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of “Kabir Singh” and “Arjun Reddy” fame, also stars Tripti Dimri, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Anil Kapoor in important roles.
