Disney is leveraging its extensive portfolio of platforms to support Sterling K. Brown and Dan Fogelman, the creator of “This Is Us,” in their new Hulu series titled “Paradise.” The political thriller will receive a linear launch on both ABC and FX.

This series marks Brown’s notable return to television as a regular following the conclusion of Fogelman’s acclaimed NBC family drama in 2022. The initial three episodes will premiere on Hulu on January 28. Subsequently, the first episode will be aired on ABC on January 29 at 10 p.m., with FX set to broadcast it on February 1 at 10 p.m.

Following this, the eight-episode inaugural season of “Paradise” will continue to release new episodes weekly on Hulu.

This sampling approach for the premiere of “Paradise” represents a groundbreaking strategy for Disney, as the company has not previously released the inaugural episode of a new streaming series on such a large scale at launch. This decision reflects a significant risk that underscores the corporation’s confidence in the project, as well as its intention to leverage its streaming platforms, broadcast network, and cable channels collaboratively to maximize viewership for this high-profile series.

Hulu explained that, “Paradise” takes place in a tranquil, affluent community populated by some of the most notable figures in the world. However, this peace is shattered by a shocking murder, leading to a high-stakes investigation.

The cast of “Paradise” includes Brown, Julianne Nicholson, James Marsden, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV.

Brown serves as an executive producer for “Paradise,” collaborating with creator Fogelman, as well as John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, John Hoberg, Jess Rostenthal, and Steve Beers. The series is produced by 20th Television.
