Pixar ‘Elio’ Trailer Teases A Thrilling Space Adventure

Elio, Pixar’s upcoming animated feature, takes audiences to a thrilling intergalactic journey. Disney unveiled the first complete teaser on Wednesday, introducing Earth’s unlikely space representative. The movie will shortly be released in theatres.

The tailor series Elio explained in the beginning, “I’m trying to get abducted — by aliens. I’m supposed to be up there.” Seemingly getting his wish, Elio’s adventures begin when he is mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe. While he is in space, he forms new bonds with eccentric aliens while discovering who he’s truly meant to be.

Yonas Kibreab, Brad Garrett, Zoe Saldaña, Remy Edgerly, Shirley Henderson, and Jameela Jamil are among the voice actors.

Characters and Plot

Yonas Kibreab, the titular character in “Elio,” is a little child who aspires to be among the stars. A group of helpful aliens mistake him for Earth’s ambassador and give him a big smile. There, he encounters a variety of vibrant extraterrestrial beings, such as Lord Grigon (Brad Garrett), Questa (Jameela Jamil), Glordon (Remy Edgerly), and OOOOO (Shirley Henderson). Zoe Saldaña, a recent Oscar winner, also portrays Elio’s troubled aunt Olga.

 Writer and Director

Elio was directed by Domee Shi and Madeline Sharafian following the departure of original writer-director Adrian Molina. Produced by Mary Alice Drumm.

In a prior interview with the YouTube program Kids First, Kibreab stated that he anticipated the movie to evoke a range of emotions in viewers. At the moment, he explained,  “They’re gonna feel all different kinds of emotions,” he said at the time. “They’re gonna be laughing, they’re gonna maybe tear up — I don’t know — and they’re also just gonna be super happy because the movie is just generally a very funny and exciting movie.”

The success of Inside Out 2, which debuted in theatres in June and became the highest-grossing film of 2024 worldwide, is what Pixar is currently celebrating. Additionally, it received a nomination for the Oscar for best animated film.
