Part 1 of Salaar, starring Prabhas Ceasefire surpassed the Rs 500-crore milestone worldwide, surpassing the earnings of Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki, which amassed over Rs 300 crore in its second week of global distribution.

Since its official release on December 22, Salaar, which was directed by Prashanth Neel, has left the cash registers ringing. The movie’s first day earnings were an incredible Rs 90.70 crore nett. It continued to grow, earning Rs 56.35 crore nett on Day 2, Rs 62.05 crore on Day 3, Rs 46.30 crore on Day 4, Rs 24.90 crore on Day 5, and Rs 15.10 crore on Day 6.

Salaar continued to amass impressive earnings on Thursday, its seventh day in theaters, adding roughly Rs 13.90 crore to its total domestic box office receipts of Rs 309 crore. The action movie has now earned Rs 521 crore at the global box office.

The box office journey for Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, on the other hand, has been quite unpredictable. The movie had a strong opening day gross of Rs 29.2 crore nett, but on Friday it had a decline (to Rs 20.12 crore nett), before peaking at Rs 56.31 crore nett over the weekend. Weekday collections continued to decline (from Monday to Wednesday, they brought in a net amount of Rs 46 crore), with Thursday, the eighth day, recording the lowest amount of approximately Rs 9 crore.

Dunki has so far amassed a sizeable net worth of Rs 161.01 crore in India. Dunki has surpassed the earnings of Adah Sharma’s film The Kerala Story (Rs 302 crore) and is now among the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films of 2023 with a global total of Rs 305 crore after just seven days of release.
