“Premalu” Theatrical Run Update: OTT Release Date Likely Delayed

Girish A.D.’s latest romantic comedy drama, Premalu, is filled with humor and entertainment. With a successful run at the theaters and positive reviews, this Malayalam film was released on February 9 in India and on February 15 worldwide.

The film’s favorable reviews have led to the producers receiving generous offers from OTT players. The choice has been delayed while the movie is still having a great theatrical run.

Is There Any More Delay In The Premalu OTT Release?

Disney Plus Hotstar, one of the biggest OTT platforms and the one that always gets first dibs on Malayalam films, has reportedly been successful in acquiring the rights to the Premalu movie, despite numerous OTT platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus Hotstar, Sony LIV, and Prime Video competing to secure the digital streaming rights of this film. Its makers, however, have chosen to delay the film’s release on digital streaming platforms because it is still doing very well at the box office. Official announcements of further details have not yet been made.

Akhila Bhargavan, Meenakshi Raveendran, Naslen as Sachin, Mamitha Baiju as Reenu, Shyam Mohan as Aadhi, Sangeeth Prathap as Amal, and Althaf Salim, Shameer Khan, Ranjith Narayan Kurup, AR Rajaganesh, K.S. Prasad, and Mathew Thomas are among the important actors in this romantic comedy.

Under the Bhavana Studios banner, Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, and Syam Pushkaran produced the co-written and co-directed film with Girish A.D. The editor was Akash Joseph Varghese, while Ajmal Sabu operated the camera. The soundtrack and background score for the movie were all written by Vishnu Vijay. Co-writer Kiran Josey contributed to the Premalu film.
