According to Kensington Palace, President Joe Biden met with the Prince of Wales on Friday in Boston, where they discussed their “warm memories” of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The Prince and Princess of Ridges are in Boston for the second annual Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony, an aggressive drive established by Prince William to assist with handling a portion of the planet’s most squeezing ecological difficulties, which is planned for Friday. The British heir to the throne was motivated to start the project by President John F. Kennedy’s 1962 “moonshot” speech, in which he urged the United States to continue space exploration.
A statement from Kensington Palace said that the prince and Biden had “a warm, friendly, and substantive discussion” after Biden greeted him outside the JFK Presidential Library and Museum. According to the Palace, the Prince also shared his global and long-term goal of winning the prize.
Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, had stated earlier on Friday that climate goals and the importance of mental health were likely to be discussed.
In September, Biden last spoke at the Boston library about his administration’s cancer moonshot program.
The Bidens have had a number of meetings with British royalty, including attending Queen Elizabeth II’s London funeral in September. Prince William thanked Biden for coming to the Queen’s services during their meeting in Boston.
The royals are making their first trip to the United States since 2014 when they went to New York. Their three-day stay in Boston is their first trip. A few months after their wedding in 2011, the couple also went on a wild California tour.
Biden later took part in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers’ phone bank in Boston.
