Disney is continuing its practice of remaking animation classics with a live-action Snow White adaption, bringing the studio’s first princess back to the big screen.

The original Snow White fairy tale, originally written by the Brothers Grimm, gained popularity because to Disney’s 1937 animated classic, which is now regarded as one of the best Disney films ever created.

Release Date 

On March 21, 2025, Snow White would make her official debut.

With the release of a first-look photo in October 2023, a teaser during D23 in August 2024, and a full trailer in December 2024, interest in the movie is only going to increase.

Director

Marc Webb, the director of The Amazing Spider-Man and 500 Days of Summer, has assured fans that Snow White will pay homage to the original film while providing a more immersive environment and more in-depth character development.

Cast

The character of Snow White has new life thanks to the casting of Academy Award-winning actress Rachel Zegler, who is most remembered for her performance in West Side Story.

About Snow White

Gal Gadot, who is well-known for playing Wonder Woman, will play the Evil Queen, providing what she calls a fresh, nuanced take on the iconic Disney antagonist.

Although the essence of the 1937 animated picture will remain in the live-action Snow White, new plot points and unique music will be added to improve the viewing experience.

The screenplay was co-written by Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train) and Greta Gerwig (Barbie), guaranteeing a modern and innovative interpretation of the beloved fairy tale.

Award-winning composers Justin Paul and Benj Pasek, who are most renowned for their works on Dear Evan Hansen and La La Land, have also composed new musical numbers for the movie. By building on the original score, these songs will provide audiences with a fusion of contemporary storytelling and nostalgia.
