The exciting teaser for Thangalaan, the eagerly awaited Tamil historical action thriller helmed by Pa. Ranjith and backed by Jio Studios, Studio Green, and Neelam Productions, was released today.
The film, which is set against the backdrop of British colonial India, stars Vikram as the title character, Thangalaan, a tribal leader who valiantly opposes British forces who want to mine gold from his country.
Thangalaan was formally announced in December 2021 as Vikram’s 61st main character picture. Its official title was disclosed in October 2022, signalling a major turning point in the actor’s remarkable career. Soon after the title was revealed, principal photography got underway, with several shooting sessions taking place in several cities including Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Madurai, and Karnataka. The last day of filming was early July 2023.
Thangalaan Cast And Crew
The story of the movie centres on Thangalaan’s heroic battle, which is aided and abetted by a fantastic ensemble that includes Parvathy Thiruvothu as Gangamma and Malavika Mohanan as Aarathi. On August 15, 2024, which also happens to be India’s Independence Day, Thangalaan will be released in both regular and 3D formats on screens all over the world.
