Cutout outfits were one of the greatest trends of the evening as celebrities displayed remarkable fashion moments on the Los Angeles red carpet on Friday. Actors Kate Hudson, Lupita Nyong’o, Michelle Yeoh, and Natasha Lyonne are among the celebrity presenters at the 2025 event, which is hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler.

This year’s event carries on the tradition of the Critics Choice Awards setting the tone for awards season trends. Cutout gowns stand out as a distinguishing style among this year’s A-list attendees, as fashion highlights develop throughout the evening.

Many of the top TV and movie stars of the year attended the event, which was presented by Chelsea Handler from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, as scheduled.

Many guests adopted the style by dressing in form-fitting dresses with asymmetrical, side, and belly cuts. Intricate details like lace inserts, sheer panelling, and draped materials complemented the designs, while deep necklines and exposed waistlines gave their ensembles structural aspects.

Red Carpet Trend at the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards

Hannah Einbinder

Hannah Einbinder, who won the night’s best supporting actress in a comedy series award for Hacks, consistently adopts a modernist aesthetic, and the 2025 Critics Choice Awards were no exception. Einbinder accessorised her ensemble with a pair of 22-karat gold Belperron Coquillage earclips, olive green Louis Vuitton satin pumps, and minimal jewellery.

Erivo Cynthia

Cynthia Erivo has worn this silhouette many times, but this Armani Privé style has a little more flair thanks to the leather texture and flower detailing at the waist.

Orlando Bloom

Bloom, like many men at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, chose not to wear a tie. The result was a sleek, well-fitting ensemble that appeared polished and laid-back without going overboard, which is easy to do when the tie is thrown away. Bloom added Santoni boots to complete his ensemble.

Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab

In a nude-toned lace gown from Elie Saab’s spring/summer 2025 ready-to-wear collection, Angelina Jolie, who was nominated for best actress for Maria, looked carefree, airy, and gorgeous.

Louis Vuitton’s Aldis Hodge

The only way to appreciate Cross star Aldis Hodge’s Louis Vuitton suit is to see it in person. It’s difficult to notice the details of Hodge’s black velvet jacket and flared trousers since velvet absorbs light, but it’s clear that his outfit suited him well. It has a clean silhouette that should persuade any man to have a suit made just for him. His outfit was finished with black leather Louis Vuitton boots.

Ariana Grande

The features of this outfit, which was taken directly from the Christian Dior spring/summer 2025 haute couture collection, which was unveiled in Paris on January 27, combined garden themes with the notion of seasonal change to create a joyful ensemble. Additionally, the dress appeared to be lighter than air, which was advantageous for anybody who would be watching the lengthy event. Jimmy Choo shoes and Bucherer Fine Jewellery completed Grande’s ensemble.

Deadwyler, Danielle

Danielle Deadwyler looks stunning in this pastel pink colour, as well as the translucent tulle and column silhouette.

Abela Marisa

When it’s Dior and comes in this rich, stunning crimson colour, sometimes a classic style has the biggest impact.

Colman Domingo in BOSS

When it comes to wearing layered tailoring, such as a coat that is expertly draped over his shoulders, the Sing Sing star and best actor nominee is unmatched on the red carpet. At the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, Colman Domingo sported a unique BOSS ensemble that blended glossy and matte materials with chocolate hues. The actor accessorised his ensemble with Christian Louboutin footwear and yellow gold and diamond Tiffany & Co. jewellery.

The Louis Vuitton model Moeka Hoshi

In addition to her speech, Moeka Hoshi, the night’s best supporting actress in a drama series for her role in Shogun, enchanted the audience with this exquisite Louis Vuitton ensemble, which included a custom red crepe trompe l’oeil gown with a lavishly draped cape and silver platform sandals also from the French fashion house.
