The Coming-of-Age Anime Movie’s US Release Date Is Set by the Colours Within Trailer

Finally, the trailer for The Colours Within, a coming-of-age music anime film about three students who become friends after starting a band, has been released by GKIDS. This movie will be released in the United States soon.

“Totsuko is a high school student with the ability to see the ‘colors’ of others. Colors of bliss, excitement, and serenity, plus a color she treasures as her favorite. Kimi, a classmate at her school, gives off the most beautiful color of all,” reads the official synopsis. “Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore in a far corner of town. As they practice at an old church on a remote island, music brings them together, forming friendships and stirring affections. Will they discover their true ‘colors’?”

When is The Colors Within Release Date?

The Colours Within (Kimi no iro) will be released nationwide on January 13, 2025, after opening in theatres around the country on December 13 in Los Angeles. This follows the recent Annecy International feature Festival, when the anime feature made its international premiere.

Reiko Yoshida (Violet Evergarden) wrote the screenplay, and Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man) composed the music. Naoko Yamada (A Silent Voice) is the director. Takashi Kojima, the character designer and animator, is part of the creative team. Story Inc. (Your Name, Weathering With You, Suzume) and Science SARU (Scott Pilgrim Takes Off) are the producing companies. Genki Kawamura (Your Name) is the producer.
