OTT Thiru.Manickam Release Update: On December 27, 2024, this Tamil film, which starred Samuthirakani as the lead, hit theatres. Fans who would rather watch at home, however, won’t have to wait long because Zee5 will begin streaming the film on January 31, 2025. Thiru.Manickam plot summary
The protagonist of this touching family story is Samuthirakani, who owns a lottery ticket store close to the Tamil Nadu–Kerala border. Known for his integrity and love for his family, his life changes when an old guy comes into his store, selects a few tickets, and says he will come back with cash to purchase them. Sadly, the man’s financial difficulties prevent him from returning, but one of the tickets he selected wins a huge sum of money.
Despite pressure from his family to keep the winnings, the shopkeeper feels that the old guy should receive the prize. Thiru. Manickam discusses his moral quandary and how he resolves the tension between doing the right thing and remaining loyal to his family.
