The upcoming biopic A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet, about Bob Dylan, has a new release date.

When is the New A Complete Unknown Release Date?

The new A Complete Unknown release date is officially announced for December 25, 2024 by Searchlight. Given that Christmas releases are frequently quite popular and are typically only given to major motion pictures, Searchlight is obviously certain that the next film will be a hit.

Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Nick Offerman as Alan Lomax, and P.J. Byrne as Harold Leventhal co-star in A Complete Unknown with Chalamet. Along with Andrew Rona and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dylan serves as executive producer. Long-time Dylan manager Jeff Rosen has joined as a producer alongside Mangold, Alex Heineman of The Picture Company, Fred Berger of Automatik, Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Peter Jaysen of Veritas Entertainment Group, among others.

“Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 60s, the film follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan’s (Chalamet) meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts — his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation — culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965,” , the synopsis reads.

James Mangold is the director of A Complete Unknown, which is based on a script he co-wrote with Jay Cocks based on author Elijah Wald’s novel Dylan Goes Electric. Boyd Holbrook plays Johnny Cash in the movie, Nick Offerman plays Alan Lomax, and P.J. Byrne plays Harold Leventhal.
