Seeing Gojira is an overwhelming, transformative experience as any fortunate show goers who made the journey to the French technical progressive metallers’ amazing live show will let you know. For those not all that lucky, there’s presently a beautifully shot, proficient video of the band’s whole one hour and 16 minute set from 2018’s Pol’And’Rock Festival, a free occasion that happens toward the beginning of each August in Kostrzyn nad Odrą in western Poland.
The enchanting, incoherent riffs are superbly coordinated with the enormous light and smoke show for an extraordinary stage creation. As the band individuals menacingly linger in the shadows of the staccato strobes, the enormous crowd moshes, raises their Gojira signals, and undulates as one to each crushing track. More extensive shots work out to show the abject magnitude of the occasion, cutting back in to catch intimate close-ups of the group as they rip through song after song spanning their 20+ year career.
